Southampton striker Che Adams has joined Torino on a three-year deal.

The Serie A outfit confirmed the free transfer on Tuesday morning, with Adams leaving St Mary’s after five years on the south coast.

He joined Southampton from Birmingham in 2019 and went on to score 48 goals in 191 appearances.

His best goalscoring campaign came last season when he scored 15 goals in the Championship to earn Southampton a spot in the play-offs.

Russell Martin’s side went on to beat Leeds at Wembley to seal their promotion back to the Premier League, but Adams has opted for a new challenge rather than sticking around to play in England’s top flight again.

Adams featured in all three of Scotland’s games at Euro 2024, but is set to join up with his Torino team-mates immediately following his nation’s early elimination from the tournament.

Torino finished ninth in Serie A last season, and will hope to push on in a bid to secure European football this term.

Meanwhile, Southampton are remaining busy in the transfer market and have made further enquiries for Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.

The 21-year-old winger was limited to just six Premier League appearances at Selhurst Park in 2023-24, and the Saints are interested in securing his services for their upcoming campaign.

Palace have already snubbed two offers from Southampton for Rak-Sakyi, but the newly-promoted club have not given up hope of managing to get a deal over the line.
