Portugal and Switzerland will face off in the last-16 of the World Cup looking to book a quarter-final place.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s side triumphed as winners of Group H with six points having won their first two games, despite losing their previous match 2-1 against South Korea.
Switzerland meanwhile progressed as group runners-up behind Brazil after a thrilling 3-2 victory over group rivals Serbia.
The meeting between the teams will be the 26th in history and already their third this year, following a win each in the Nations League.

Where is Portugal vs Switzerland being played?
Portugal’s clash with Switzerland will take place at the Lusail Iconic Stadium – which is located slightly to the north of Doha.
The ground has a capacity of nearly 90,000 and is a purpose built facility for the tournament and was only opened a year ago shortly after its construction was complete.
The stadium will hold several group stage matches, already staging Portugal’s 2-0 win over Uruguay, and will host a match in every knock-out stage including the final itself.

After rotating a few players for the clash with South Korea, Portugal are set to go full strength again and that will likely see returns to the starting XI for Bruno Fernandes as well as Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias.
Neither team have any major fitness concerns and that could see Yann Sommer and Nico Elvedi back into consideration for Switzerland who missed the final group game with Serbia due to illness.

Switzerland have had the edge winning 11 matches compared to Portugal’s nine, and they tend to face each other in competitive matches with their last 12 games going back to 1982 not containing a single friendly.
