LaLiga President Javier Tebas has taken a swipe at Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe after the French superstar rejected a move to Real Madrid this summer.
The 23-year-old had been widely expected to sign for the Spanish giants ahead of the 2022-23 season, but in May signed a £650,000-a-week contract extension with PSG to stay at the club until 2025.
Mbappe’s decision angered both Real Madrid and LaLiga at the time and Tebas has continued to criticise the French star for staying in Paris.

Speaking at public presentation on this season’s LaLiga Squad Spending Limits, the 60-year-old was asked if the league was lacking superstar names like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Mbappe.
‘If we look at the clubs where they are, we see that these are clubs that are pouring money’. Tebas said.
‘Of course, we would have liked them to come, but they weren’t there last year either.

Real Madrid made Mbappe their number one target this summer but he turned down a move to the Bernabeu by signing his new deal, which is worth a reported £4million-a-month, making the World Cup winner the highest-paid player in the world.
Mbappe’s rejection of a move to Madrid didn’t go down well with club’s president Florentino Perez, with him telling the French star after Real’s Champions League win in June that they had already moved on.
Perez said ‘Real Madrid will always continue to work on having the best players, but today Mbappé is already forgotten.’

Mbappe has started the season in a rich vein of form, with nine goals in his first six games for PSG.
After hitting five goals in Ligue 1 already this campaign, the forward netted twice to open his Champions League account against Juventus on Tuesday night.
While Real Madrid have shown that there is no immediate loss in not recruiting Mbappe, having remained unbeaten in their first four LaLiga games and beaten Celtic in their Champions league opener this week.
