Germany’s 2022 World Cup campaign will be filmed by Amazon for their next ‘All or Nothing’ documentary… with six-part series set to follow the team’s fortunes after shock group stage exit in 2018 and defeat by England in round of 16 at Euro 2020
Amazon have chosen the German national team to be the subject of their next ‘All or Nothing’ documentary, and will follow the side’s preparations for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Hansi Flick’s side will be the latest team to get their own behind-the-scenes Amazon programme, and this latest iteration will follow the fallout of Germany’s disappointing Euro 2020 campaign and the World Cup itself later this year.
The documentary is due to be released in Spring 2023, and if Germany should win the tournament this Winter, cameras will document the side’s return to the top of the world as they bid for a fifth star.
Hansi Flick teased the series will give viewers ‘exclusive insights’ into Germany’s ‘processes’
Former Bayern Munich manager and ex-national side assistant coach Flick said after the announcement: ‘The Amazon team supports us intensively and offers many exclusive insights into our processes.
‘The documentary follows our goal back to the top of the world and shows how hard we work to achieve it.
‘Our biggest challenge is still to come with the World Cup. It will be challenging, emotional and hopefully successful in the end.

‘We go ALL IN and want to go with it make the documentary possible for the fans.’
Die Mannschaft will become the second national side to be followed by the cameras at a major tournament, after Brazil’s successful 2019 Copa America campaign was made into a documentary.
The most recent iteration gave viewers a glimpse into the inner machinations of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal during the 2021-22 season – a series which drew praise from viewers and players alike.
The six-episode series will begin after the four-time champions were knock out in the group stages of the last tournament and – hopefully for German fans – end with the team lifting the 2022 edition.
The documentary will pick up from Germany’s group stage exit from the last tournament
Marc Lepetit, Managing Director and Producer UFA Documentary, explains: ‘As Nico Hofmann with Oliver Bierhoffcame to us with the project, one thing was clear: the German national team is one of the biggest teams in soccer, and ‘All or Nothing’ is the sports documentary brand in the world.
‘It is an honor to bring together the fascination of the game and the team behind the DFB team, the challenges of the biggest tournament in the world of football and the narrative form of the format.
‘Together with our creative team, our partner Stereo Films and Amazon Studios, we capture the stories and appreciate the openness and trust of the team.
‘We will take the viewers on the journey through the tournament, the ups and downs, and draw a picture that you may not have seen before. We look forward to the coming months.’
