Bayern’s acquisition of Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus has pushed Richards further down the pecking order.
The opportunity to play in the Premier League is hugely appealing for Richards, with Palace boss Patrick Vieira rating him highly. Â
Vieira has already signed talented young winger Malcolm Ebiowei following his departure from Derby County, while Cheick Doucoure signed from Lens.Â
Meanwhile, keeper Jack Butland is out for up to eight weeks after breaking a finger during his side’s pre-season defeat to Manchester United.
