‘We’re not going to sign anyone’: Carlo Ancelotti insists Real Madrid are DONE in this summer’s transfer window as Italian boss confirms Eden Hazard will be used as a false No 9 for the upcoming season
- Carlo Ancelotti says there will be no more new signings at Real this summer
- The Laliga side have already signed Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni
- Real have been linked with strikers after missing out on PSG’s Kylian Mbappe
- But Ancelotti says Eden Hazard will be used as a false No 9 for upcoming season
Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed Real Madrid will not sign any more players in this summer’s transfer window, insisting his team is ‘fine’ as it is.
Real have been relatively active since winning the Champions League in May, signing Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco for £72million and Antonio Rudiger for free following the expiration of his Chelsea contract.
Ancelotti’s side have also been linked with a number of forwards after missing out on Kylian Mbappe, but the Italian boss says there will be no more incomings.

Ancelotti has also claimed, despite his struggles since joining the club, Eden Hazard could be used as a false No 9 for the upcoming campaign.
As reported by Marca, the 63-year-old said: ‘I can’t talk about the signings, but I’m already saying that everything is over. We’re not going to sign anyone. We’re fine like this.’
On the striker position, Ancelotti added: ‘We have many options for that position. Benzema is number 1 but we have to understand that it will be a strange season, different, with the World Cup in between and we have to see different options.
‘My idea is to try to see Eden in that position.
‘Given the quality that Eden has and his qualities, it could be good for us to test him there as. It’s a similar case to Asensio.’
The Italian boss says he will try to use Eden Hazard as a false No 9 for the upcoming season
In recent seasons, Hazard has failed to lock down a regular starting place and has only scored six goals in all competitions across his three years at the club – the same as his lowest total in a single campaign while at Chelsea.
But the Belgian is said to be fitter than he has been for some time and could finally repay the £103m the club spent on him in 2019.
Ancelotti also heaped praised on new boys Rudiger and and Tchouameni, saying: ‘The signings bring great quality to the squad. They are, in their positions, the best that could be found on the market.
‘Rudiger is a great central defender and Tchouameni is the same, he is very young and has a lot of projection.
Real Madrid have already signed highly-rated French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni
They have also recruited Antonio Rudiger following the expiration of his Chelsea contract
‘He is already an international with France… we take advantage of this tour so that they adapt to the squad that we have.’
Real enjoyed a sublime season last term after winning the Laliga title by 13 points before clinching European glory against Liverpool.
They will start their campaign with a Super Cup clash against Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt on August 10 before travelling to Almeria four days later to open their defence of the league title.
