A host of stars from the world of sport have taken to social media to celebrate the New Year.
With midnight and the start of 2022 edging ever closer, many famous faces joined in the celebrations, including Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe wrote on Twitter: ‘Road to 2022… Happy New Year everyone I wish you health, happiness and success.’

Tottenham striker Harry Kane wrote: ‘For me 2021 has produced some amazing memories in football and family life. Something I never take for granted. Happy new year to you all. Roll on 2022!’.
Kane’s Tottenham team-mate Giovani Lo Celso posted a picture of Antonio Conte’s squad ahead of Saturday’s game away to Watford. He wrote: ‘Bye 2021 Soon: 2022. December 31 at the hotel. Ready for tomorrow’.
Meanwhile, Chelsea and England star Mason Mount wrote: ‘HNY’ and posted a picture of himself.
During 2021 Trevoh Chalobah, made a major breakthrough at Chelsea.
He wrote: ‘Mum this 2021 was for you. I made you a promise that I will make my childhood dream. You fueled me with hunger and determination. This year has been a year I will never forget. Jehovah I thank you for everything without you nothing would have been possible. Happy new year.’
Manchester United and Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes posted a picture of himself with his family and wrote: ‘Wishing everyone a happy and healthy new year!! Very excited for 2022’.
Boxing star Anthony Joshua also enjoyed the celebrations.
Another boxer, Tommy Fury, captioned a picture of himself in New York: ‘The set backs in 2021 only made me hungrier. 2022 I’m coming for everything’.
Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland was prolific in front of goal in 2021 and has been widely tipped for a big money transfer in 2022.
He wrote: ‘Recharging and relaxing before a new year begins. 2022 loading.’
Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara wrote: ‘A year full of learnings. Wishing a successful and healthy 2022 to everybody!’.

Jesse Lingard spent the first half of the year on loan at West Ham before returning to Manchester United.

Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski wrote: ‘Happy New Year! May all your wishes come true in 2022!’.
Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas wrote: Happy new year everyone. The best is yet to come.’
